CONCENCRATED TO THE LORD

365 DAYS OF THANKSLIVING — DAY 2

concencrated unto the Lord

I realize that I’m writing this post late at night. That’s somewhat become my norm lately; I apologize. And for that reason, this post might be unusually short. But that should be okay. Right?

Today I was privileged to officiate the baptism of a two-month-old boy. What joy! I’m always delighted to watch how God works in the lives of my congregation, especially in the young. But what I’m truly thankful for is seeing another young family choose to consecrate their child unto the Lord.

It brings me so much joy to see young families choose to raise their children in the Christian faith. For one to say, yes we believe in Jesus and we want to our children to inherit eternal life through Christ, what can be more important? We talked about this in bible study after worship, some lamenting that too many Americans have walked away from the faith and have intentionally chosen to live apart from the Lord. How that must break God’s heart. So, when I see a young family say “Yes” to the Lord, well, that brings me great joy – and for all that, I thank the Lord today.

Heavenly Father, bless all those who are choosing to concentrate their lives unto you, and their children too. Mark them all with the cross of Christ, and seal them in the power of your Holy Spirit. Sanctify them by your truth, and through your mercy and grace, bring them all into eternal life by saving them all in Christ. May all who are reading this daily die to themselves and perpetually be born again, living for you more each day, until the day we pass through your eternal, heavenly gates. Amen.
